The ELIA
depends on the efforts and support of its membership in order to realize
its goals. Our Board of Directors is make up of fifteen members who serve
three year terms, one lifetime member and one advisor. Five board members
come up for renewal or replacement every year. members who are interested
in becoming more involved in contributing to the process are encouraged
to express their interest in being a board member. Board members are divided
into committees depending on where their interests and expertise lie.
The board meets twice in the spring and twice in the fall. There is a
general membership meeting in the summer.

ELIA STANDING COMMITTEES |
Boating
Safety:
Responsible for researching and advising board on issues such as
boating regulations and safety, lake police patrols, buoy
placement, and public boat landing use. Committee will consult
with the Village of Elkhart Shoreland Ordinance Committee on
issues contained within the Elkhart Lake Shoreland Ordinance.

Water Quality
Committee:
Responsible for researching and advising board and membership on
issues affecting lake water quality. Investigate and identify
contaminant sources and provide abatement ideas. Responsible for
water sampling, grant application, identification and oversight.
Works with the information committee to increase public awareness
of ecological issues. Educate the public and membership on septic
tank maintenance and good lake stewardship lifestyle.

Community Outreach:
Information
Subcommittee:
Responsible for distribution of information
and communication to membership via the website, newsletter, and
print media. Maintains website, produces semi-annual newsletter,
oversees use of kiosk and compiles new lake resident information
kits. Responsible for marketing the lake association to the
community. |

Community Outreach: membership
Subcommittee:
Responsible for recruiting new members and maintaining records of
current membership. Updates membership roster and produces
membership label list. Committee will send out annual dues notice
and notify membership about association social events. Also
responsible for planning the annual meeting and marketing the
association to the community. Organize, plan and work with board
of directors silent auction fundraising efforts. |

Community Relations:
Government Relations
Consults with Sheboygan County officials and other local
regulatory bodies to promote the lake association mission and
values. Attend/and or present to Village of Elkhart Lake,
Sheboygan County, and Town of Rhine board meetings when necessary.
Will serve as activists/lobbyists for political issues that impact
the lake, its members or mission. Helps with fundraising and
marketing of the lake association to the community. |
